CBCT Assisted Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

Learn how CBCT can assist in diagnosis by locating complex anatomy, ERR vs IRR, calcified canals, PARL, missed canals, extra roots, MB2, proximity of root apex to IAN/Mental nerve or sinus cavity, fractures, comparison over time to determine healing or progress of disease, implant planning, POE, length of canal, dental fracture (trauma), Alveolar fracture (trauma).

Objectives: Learn about important benefits of CBCT as an essential adjunct to help with diagnosis in endodontics/dentistry and to incorporate CBCT as part of every diagnostic workup of our patients.

Dr. Sasan Jafari Dr. Jafari earned his Master's of Science in Applied Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He completed the Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland dental school in Baltimore. He has obtained his General Practice Residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania followed by a post-graduate Endodontic residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has published scientific research articles in both prestigious endodontic and science journals. Dr. Jafari moved back to his home in Maryland, in 2004, where he began to practice endodontics. He is a member of several professional organizations and was selected to be listed amongst the "Top Dentists" by Washingtonian Magazine. In addition, Dr. Jafari has presented lectures on diagnosis and treatment planning in endodontics to several study clubs including the Seattle Study Club, Science Dental Study Club, WIDS, Potomac Dental Study Club, and Bi-county Dental Study Club.
